New gangway Fair Basel
The new building designed by the well-known Basel architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron, which opened in 2013, combines functionality and aesthetics in an almost perfect way. The upper part of the building consists of two superimposed hall bodies that project out into the street space to different extents.
Fascinated, visitors look through a circular opening in the middle of the ”City Lounge”, which penetrates both upper floors.
Project
Connecting gangway of the exhibition halls with the Swissotel Le Plaza.
The gangway was made of two large elements. The supporting structure was assembled in one night. The facade elements were fabricated and hung as prefabricated elements. This enabled an extremely short assembly time.
