SBB Basel – Temporary footbridge

The temporary footbridge project relieves the existing footbridge as a bridging measure. The Passerelle will be located in the area between the existing Passerelle and the Margarethenbrücke and will provide access to the platforms. It will be implemented together with the Basel SBB performance upgrade and is one of the prerequisites for the quarter-hourly Basel-Liestal S-Bahn service and other service expansions.
Bridging measures must therefore be implemented at Basel SBB station until a definitive crossing is commissioned.
Due to the complexity and size of the project, Rytz AG has joined forces with Marti AG and Officine Ghidoni SA to form a consortium.
The work will be carried out from 2023 to 2025.

Project
The scope of work of the consortium includes the following services:
Steel construction (planning, production, surface protection, delivery) – execution by Officine Ghidoni SA
Facade construction (incl. roof) of the Passerelle – carried out by Officine Ghidoni SA
Facade construction staircases, elevator towers and glazing (planning, production, delivery and installation) – Execution by Rytz AG
Platform roofs incl. plumbing work – carried out by Rytz AG
Steel construction assembly, assembly platform, auxiliary and lifting equipment – carried out by Marti AG
